Group counseling is a form of counseling where a small group of people meet regularly to discuss, interact, and explore problems with each other and the group leader. Group counseling seeks to give students a safe and comfortable place on campus where they can work out problems and emotional concerns. Members gain insight into their own thoughts and behavior, and offer suggestions and support to others.
Through group counseling I can help to repair relationships, work through problems, help each member to explore emotions and behaviors with the context of the group, and better understand each other. I aim to do all of this in a safe, caring, and confidential environment that seeks to better both the individuals and the group as a whole. My goal is to form a bond through our sessions that enables trust and growth.
*Note that not every group qualifies for group counseling.
