Hi, my name is Jacquelyn Hunt. I am the Founder and CEO of CROFF (Cultural Recovery Options For Families) as well as a certified substance abuse counselor, licensed professional counselor, and published author.
I am a caring, compassionate professional with over 18 years of experience in the Substance Abuse/Mental Health field and I provide culturally relevant, strength-based, and trauma-informed care to all my clients. I specialize in serving people from marginalized families and communities.
I know firsthand what it is like to be marginalized and in need of supportive services. I have led my own path of recovery, redemption, and restoration that now provides the foundation for my work. This foundation allows me to strike the right balance of supporting consumers and instilling the belief in them that they too can overcome to become all they want to be.
Today, I’m taking my services to the community and to the heart of where those who struggle the most with mental health and substance abuse dwell to inspire change and hope.
Our Vision
To ensure the stability/ability for strong, successful, and thriving black families who are raising healthy and successful children supporting their families and who engage in their communities in meaningful ways.
Community Goals
CROFF believes that our purpose goes beyond a simple client-provider transaction. We want to improve our community as well.
- To reduce out of home placement of black children in the foster care system.
- Reduce the ducational achievement and attainable gaps of African-American children across Dane County Schools.
- Reduce the number of black teens who are at risk of JRC placements in Dane County.
- To reduce the number of black men and women with mental health needs who are under the supervision of local county and state correctional systems.
- Identify the educational needs of black adults and provide the opportunities necessary to ensure that they are qualified and possess the skills that will enable them to compete successfully in today's job market.
